Was this the same woman that told you that an engineer visit would be needed :P? We have to accept that the faults reporting system is very basic and there is a lack of communication within the department. VOD is currently being rolled out to the TVDrive boxes, and within some areas will not work/have limited content/not always updated until its complete.

I think from what I've seen on the problems from others:
1. Make sure that all the channels on the V+ Box work
2. Make sure that the PIN number is requested and entered by engineer.
3. Make sure that the additional STB works
Anyone have any other things to watch out for?

1 . Before the installation begins you want to confirm with customer services that the correct box is scheduled for deactivation, this can be done by looking at the smart card code number in the box you wish to keep, then confirming it with them.
2. Ringing up to confirm your installion is going ahead a day before is always worthwhile too. If you have a HDMI socket on your TV make sure they also have this information to ensure you get a free HDMI cable. [b]Clear some space for the engineer and if you wish to use your own cables ensure you keep a SCART one to the TV, as the TVDrive is set to default to this and not the HDMI.[b]
3. When the engineer comes make him a cup of tea

. If your installation is the first one in the local area, he will open the box and then leave to work in the 'green box' on your road. He will then return and plug the TVDrive in and start the configuration.
4. He will then text your box code, and smardcard code to be registered. Once this has been done he will tweak a few settings in the engineers menus. The three tuners then go green and he moves on to the next screen, where he has to input a pin number from the default 0000. He should ask you what you want, it can always be changed later - so maybe worth keeping it 1234 simple!
5. The box will then power up, and unless the systems are running ultra fast you will just have the basic channels. The rest will eventually filter through, its worth keeping the engineer there until at least you can see 108 which is the HD channel. He will be in rush to move on but it could save you time in the future.
6. While you are waiting for this run to the extra old style box and ensure that you have your correct package running properly.
7. Enjoy a proper speed EPG, 85 hours of SD storage space etc

Be aware you are using an untested, not officially launched product and that there will be some quirks. VOD is the major one at the moment, but it will all be sorted in time.
