Images from one channel, sound from another

I did a quick search and couldn't find anything similar, but hope this isn't a repost.

Watching a recording of Desperate Housewives (i know, it was the gf's!) last night and the sound levels were a bit up and down, akin to when your ears go funny due to altitude if you see what I mean. Anyway, all of a sudden, a voiceover from another channel comes on announcing the start of big brother I think it was, so the voiceover from one channel has been recorder over the images of another. Do you think this was the broadcasters mistake or a glitch with the tvdrive.

Anyone had a similar problem?

This sounds like broadcaster error to me, I'm not entirely sure how a glitch with the TV drive would give such results?

I watched this live and it was definitely a broadcaster error. I believe the announcer was rehearsing her end announcement as it was repeated at the end of the programme at the appropriate point.
I'm sure there must be some degree of embarrassment here, as well as relief at not having a private conversation broadcast to all E4 viewers!
Whoops!
