Goodbye NTL tvdrive problems to much

After Getting the tvdrive installed on monday I have went from a customer who was more than happy with NTL to cancelling tv, phone and broadband

Where it all went wrong My rant

On tuesday all went smoothly with installation, give it 3 hours for the channels to appear.After the 3 hours I still had no subscription channels.

Tuesday's calls

1) I'll resend signal call back in 2 hours if problems continue.

2) Faults department computers down ( did I know then that this would be there most common answer)

3) Faults ask for my card number in STB give him that, says they have given the wrong number and the card and box dont match. Someone will phone me within 3 days F k that told him that was a disgrace I wasted a day off work for that.

4) You have to wait 24 hours before we do anything.


Wednesday's calls 26 hours later

4) Faults department computers down.

5) There is a problem with your card number I asked her to tell me the number they had (1st guy that took the number I had to repeat it 3 times so I thought he may have made a mistake.)
After putting me on hold 3 times and several times off me insisting she told me the number they had I finally found out it was the correct number so card and box matched.
Tells me she resent signal call back in 2 hours etc etc...

6) 2 hours later Faults department computers down.

7) called customer support guy says it may be my Irish accent and he will phone faults and call me back (he never did!

Thursday's calls

8) Faults department computers down.

9) Call customer services. Told there was something that didn't quite look right on my account and she would investagate and call me back as soon as she new more.

Ten minutes later got a call back and was told that for some reason it install department had still got the install as active and that was now removed and channels would work ( credit to this woman she did everything in her power to try sort this out.

10 ) Still no luck so call Faults again. This time told it was a national fault and all tvdrive customers could only get bbc 1 2 3 4 5 etc and this would not be resolved to the end of the month. I said you expect me to do with channels untill then "you wont be charged for the time without the channels" oh thanks but just not good enough.

11) Now in a mood phone cancellations. Told her the story she check everything appolgised and cancelled all services.

6 years of ntl I still have the cable modem I paid for (back in the good old days) so I might hold onto this in badness.

Sorry to hear about the problems. Looks like ntl have lost another loyal customer.

Yeah it hard to not just jump up and leave but I tried to hold off. But 30 minutes on hold and told the computer system is down is hard to take!

Can't understand they give up so easy maybe i'll start getting calls and letters in a week or 2.

Off to phone sky now to see what deal I can get. Just got a new tv 2 weeks ago and I have read currys where doing sky HD for 1/2 price

iirc you can go back in with your receipt and they will allow you to sign up as you got the tv while the offer was on.
