V+HD Box!
Also known as the TvDrive!
Virgin media are changing the whole look of it for folks on the bromley platform, It's gonna be called the V+Hd box (because BT are trying to stake claim to the V box) predominantly black with a small virgin media logo on the left and V+Hd box on the right.
Also the menu screens are going to change too, some folks may already have stumbled upon the new look menus with virgin tv in the corner.
This update (uk2) is going to every stb in the country and is meant to improve the speed of the epg and channel change.
Only time will tell!

Interesting change for the TV Drive, actively promoting it as "V+HD", when the only HD content you've got is a trial channel from the BBC which may end this spring, and a few films on filmflex running in HD - and no sign of any of the Sky/Discovery/Nat. Geo HD stuff anytime soon.
It won't fool customers one bit - TW areas already know there's naff all HD content!

Re: V+HD Box!
I have heard various bits of information on this today. I have heard on good authority through various internal sources that TVDrive has had a facelift, inside as well as out. TVDrive re-branded will be called V+.
Inside the box will be the new set top box code that is the future face of Virgin TV. This code is called UK2.
On Wednesday January 17th 2007, a V+ pilot will be launching in three Bromley franchises, Stockport, Oldham and Manchester.
On Thursday 18th January, A UK2 pilot will commence, this is the UK2 code which will be downloaded into all the boxes in three franchises: Basildon (Knowsley), Coventry (Langley) and Ashbury (Bromley).
Following the success of the pilots, it won't be long until UK2 code will be rolled out nationally and then the V+ HD box should be available to everyone.

OhMyGwadCoventryHasBeenChosen! I feel....blessed.
So.....are all us existing TV Drive owners gonna get V+ stickers to 'stick' over the TV Drive logo on the boxes? (Didn't OnDigital do this when they changed to ITV Digital?)

LOL!!
Still....its gonna be a little confusing isn't it?
Customer "Help! My TV Drive isn't working!"
CS: "What's that then!?"
Customer "You know.....the TV Drive thingy."
CS: "Sorry Sir, we only deal with V and V+ boxes. Goodbye!"

Re: V+HD Box!
What does thie mean to those of us with a TV Drive already? Will they have to replace our box or will they just update the firmware on the existing TV Drive?

Odd that they don't chose Bromley for any of the "Bromley" pilots...
