Finding programes by category - waste of time?

There is one thing in the new TVDrive/V+ system that I think is a total waste of time - the category search for record future programmes.

You select the type of thing you want to watch - like action movies, and then you wait for 5 minutes for the results for today while you're told the keypad is locked - but I don't want to see programmes for today, I want to know what films are on over the next week, so I have to press next day to get to tomorrow - 5 more minutes, then the next day... etc.

The wait times render this feature useless. What I actually want to do is search for action films over the next week - I don't mind what day they're on because my PVR will record it and I'll watch it when it's ready.

I have the 4 Family Pack movies channels, however this represents only a fraction of the movies available on all the Family Pack channels. Horror, FX, SciFi, BBC, ITV, More4 etc... they are packed with movies, and the category search can find them all - just really badly!

And what do I do if I like Sci Fi, Crime, Thriller and Action & Adventure movies... 4 searches on each of the 8 days, each search taking about 5 minutes = over 2 hours searching... hmm.

I think I'll have to stick to RadioTimes.com for picking future searches of programmes, and then go find them on the TV Guide.

Does anyone else find that the category search takes about 5 minutes? Or perhaps this is just my box?

It doesn't take 5 minutes for me.

It takes 6 minutes.

Someone at NTL needs to add indexes to their database I think.
