Confusion - why keep original STB?
Hey.
Just signed up for TV Drive in Stafford. Expected installation next week yey
However, they asked if i wanted to pay an extra £5 a month to keep my current STB! I said no, but i don't really understand what i was being offered?
If i kept it would that mean I can use NTL in 3 rooms? (i've currently got it in 2 rooms)....
Wil I still be ok watching all my channels in my bedroom with the TVDrive box and not the original STB?
Thanks

Re: Confusion - why keep original STB?
For an extra £5 a month they would have moved your STB into a different room and yes you could have ntl in 3 rooms. Your channels shouldn't have changed so your the normal STB should have your channels on it.

Stafford is, Stoke isn't. They're on different networks.

Re: Confusion - why keep original STB?
I thought existing customers got free installation only if they kept the old STB?

AFAIK That's true.
joshuasugarman didn't keep the old STB so he had to pay for the installation.

Re: Confusion - why keep original STB?
Im in contract for another 7 months.
If I keep the STB thats £35.
If i pay £25 installation then dont keep the STB it works out cheaper as i wont use the extra STB.

Re: Confusion - why keep original STB?
Can someone just confirm for me - if you already have two STB, and subscribe to TVDrive, (so you end up with a new TVDrive, and the existing additional STB, one being returned), what's the cost?
My current cost is package plus £15 for the additional box.
My understanding is that since I'll end up with TVDrive and additional box, I'll end up paying package plus £15 in total for the extra box AND TVDrive - and no £75 installation fee.
Is that correct??

And I thought that the installation fee for those that don't keep the old STB were £75?

I think it depends on what your current package is. If you have the Family pack then you're correct, you will pay an extra £10 monthly for the TV Drive plus £5 for the extra STB (=£15 total). But, if your package is less than the family pack, then you pay £15 for the TV drive plus £5 for the extra box (=£20 total)
