Talking Free TV Drive

Having read Chris's excellent FAQ posting on the TV drive, I called NTL and because I currently have a 2nd box, costing £15 per month and also subscribe to the family pack NTL have agreed to install a TV drive for £10 per month; I can retain the original set top box for £5 per month and there will be no installation charge. That's what I call a good deal - a free upgrade !

The engineer is due pm on Tuesday 15th - what should I look out for and ask him to test before he goes ?

Thanks
J

Re: Free TV Drive

Isn't TV Drive installation free for existing customers anyway, if you keep your original STB for an extra £5 p/m :/

You should've requested a HDMI Cable if you needed one, as I've read that if you don't, you don't get one

Re: Free TV Drive

Yes, I did ask for an HDMI cable; does anyone know how long this is ?

BTW, when on the phone to ntl, I was assured by the operator that there were lots of HD channels including Sky. This is contrary to what I have read on the board - is there any update on this ?

Thanks
J

Re: Free TV Drive

I thought the BBC HD Channel was the only HD channel on TV Drive at the moment?

It is, at the moment.

Regarding the HDMI lead - I'd read that most customers had got one during installation, but I rang up to make sure I would actually get one as a precaution. Didn't want the engineer coming out without a HDMI lead and telling me something like "Oh, didn't know you had a HD ready TV set."

Oh, thanks Jacquesb.

Re: Free TV Drive

Only BBC HD Preview currently broadcasting in HD. Depending on your location you may have also a limited amount of VOD HD. In South Wales we currently do not have VOD.

The HDMI cable is black and 2m.
