TV Drive Installed : A Question!

Hi All,

Just helped another engineer through the install of a silver HDTV suitcase and all my channels have appeared!

One question on the settings on the box, I have a HDMI connection set to 720. This looks great on widescreen broadcasts, however on 4:3 I used to like the fact it stretched it to fill my screen on the old Pace box.

Is this possible with the TV Drive? I know I shouldn't watch a stretched image, but the woman and I like it

Thanks in advance.

Re: TV Drive Installed : A Question!

that will be a setting on your tv switch auto format off and this should force 16:9 (as long as tv has this setting of course)

Re: TV Drive Installed : A Question!

If your TV doesn't have that option, in the TVDrive settings you can change the picture format to 720 wide. This will stretch 4:3 pictures on output from the box.

Re: TV Drive Installed : A Question!

Yes, set the TV Drive to 720Wide. This should solve your problems.

Re: TV Drive Installed : A Question!

Thanks guys will try those later!

When the engineer arrived he amused me quite a bit, firstly by calling it a 'HMDI box' and then uttering 'not that I know how to install it'. After him refusing to put it upstairs due the fact that 'in the meeting we were told to only put them downstairs'. I explained I didn't want it installed in my downstairs neighbour living room we managed to get it up and running as I had all the leads already connected TV side.

The set up was then done on his mobile as instructed by his TL. It was kinda fun getting involved, and then him sitting down to watch 'how good and clear the picture is'. I am on the edge of technology here

Re: TV Drive Installed : A Question!

Re: TV Drive Installed : A Question!

Yeah I had a fairly new Pace box in my living area where the TV drive is now. Its also the entry point for the cable modem. I have a second box in the bedroom at the front.

I am on the Langley ex-CableTel network, in a modern development. As far as I am aware there is no issue with the length of cable. The TV Drive is working perfectly and so is the other box. I guess they might not install upstairs if they have to route a cable round the house or something?
