[Merged] TV Drive VOD: ntl langley from 7 Jan 07: new firmware

VOD will be on the on the ntl langley network from 7th Jan with new firmware upgrade on the 7th of jan aswell for the TV DRIVE,

Is this the move to the open platform rather than liberate that was talked about some moths ago - if so it is meant to be a much faster operating system for the box.

I do not know all i know as the new firmware will be on the stream on the 7th Jan that will have vod up and running,

Would NTL really do this on a Sunday and risk ****ing off their customers if something goes wrong?

Still, I hope this is true, would be nice to have old good VOD back.

VOD = Video On Demand (or in NTL's case, NTL On Demand)

Just having a play about with the tv drive now and can get some vod if i go in to movies A-Z it works but all the other categories are empty (e.g music, sports, tv choice,) I tried one that was free which was the makeing of some film and it played fine,

Just roll on tomorrow when the new firmware sorts it out for good

Well this could tie in with what I was told on the phone today - that CS will be open tomorrow between 10am and 4pm. Didn't make sense to me as I thought CS was shut on a sunday.

Incidentally, how will I know if my box has updated?

Yes mine is still not working.
All I get is a message saying its temporairly unavailable .Please try later.
Thats all I ever get I cant get past that screen.
