# ANNOUNCEMENTS #

New Server :
In June we moved to a brand new dedicated server which currently hosts Cable Forum, NTHellworld and NTHW Ltd.
We have had a difficult time prior to the move with various server issues and it was felt that we should no longer be using a shared hosting account due to rapidly growing membership and therefore, server resources.
One of the best parts of this news is that we will be able to use our new disk space and bandwidth to offer you new features, which will be mentioned in more detail either on the site, or in the next newsletter.

Board Upgrade :
We have upgraded the board to vBulletin 3.0.3 after a security flaw was discovered in versions prior to this, the installation went smoothly and our software is now up to date.

New And Upcoming Board Features :
We have installed a number of new features, some major and some more minor.

* CF Blogs - the integrated blog system - this is currently a trial.
* vB Articles - This will replace the current knowledgebase and may also be used for user reviews.

* Reputation Given - A new, proper display of the last 10 posts you gave reputation on.
* Thread Display - New posts count added, Title display added, Forum navigation added.
* PM Notification - fixed so it blinks red in non IE browsers.
* Services Field - added to your profile to allow you to enter & display what Intenet, Phone & Tv services you have.

* Reported Posts - Not a change you will see, but behind the scenes we changed the system so that it now creates a topic in a special Reported Posts forum in the team area. This means we deal with reported posts quicker, as the process is no longer reliant on e-mail.

* Welcome PM - This will be introduced shortly - each new member will get a welcome PM when they register.

Watch out for more new features as Paul & Mick find more new things they think will be useful.

Redesign and Recode of nthellworld.co.uk :
NTHellworld's original use has changed slightly with the introduction of Cable Forum, it's still a very popular site but we wish it to be used as an extention to Cable Forum rather than as a different site. The old news articles have been removed to be replaced by the last five news articles from Cable Forum, the Contact Us page has been updated and this redesign also sees the return of the Heaven & Hell sections shortly.

If you have a good, bad or even funny story about your experiences with NTL we'd love to hear from you.
Please submit your articles on one of the following links.
"Hell" story: http://www.nthellworld.co.uk/home?na...ell+submission
"Heaven" story: http://www.nthellworld.co.uk/home?na...ven+submission

Also, Richard M would like to thank you all for the excellent feedback received via the forum and email.

Cable Forum Summer 2004 Meet :
This took place in London on 28th August. See http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=14962. There are currently thoughts about a Christmas meet, keep an eye out in the Website forum for any further news on this.

[NTHW] XBox Clan Disbanded :
With regret, Caspar announced in the summer that the infamous [NTHW] Xbox clan has been disbanded due to inactivity although he did not rule out a return to Xbox clan gaming when Halo 2/Ghost Recon 2 (any game really with sufficient interest!) is released. Anyone interested in starting this up again please contact him.

NTHW Ltd website Completed :
We are happy to tell you that our company website, http://www.nthw.ltd.uk/ , has been completed. There is a lot of information about the Team on the site which informs you of our roles and can help give you an understanding of who you need to contact with an issue.
Note that Cable Forum and NTHellworld will be using the email engine on the site when you send us a message from a form like the new Contact Cable Forum page at http://www.cableforum.co.uk/about/8/contact-cable-forum

The last three months winners are;

July - Ignition
August - Debsy42

# TEAM CHANGES #

Tricky left the Cable Forum team in the summer but is still on the board, we would like to thank Tricky for his hard work over the last year. To replace him, Towny has joined the moderating team (as Chris T) - much respected and well known, he will be an asset to the team. A couple of other team members also changed their names in the summer, Pem became known as Paul M, and Tez is now Matt D. Paul M and Nemesis were promoted to full Administrators in September. Nemesis is working on the Articles area and Paul is working with Mick & Richard on the Server & vBulletin side.

# PC CLAN NEWS #

Not content with just having a dedicated web server, we have also bought a server for our [NTHW] PC Clan. We play several games but our official ones are Medal Of Honor: Spearhead, and UT2004. The servers are listed below, why not join us for a game one evening?

UT2004 - 212.42.13.117:27960
Medal of Honor: Spearhead (CTF) - 212.42.13.117:12203

Caspar is currently working on the look of the clan site, and Richard M is working on a clan video. If you wish to try out life in the clan, please post in our recruitment forum : http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/forumdisplay.php?f=41

Thank you for reading our newsletter. We hope it will be the first of many, and if you haven't visited the site for a while - please come and see us.

The Cable Forum Team,

Frank, Neil, Mick, Richard M, Russ D, Caspar, Steve H, Nemesis, Paul M, Matt D, Stuartbe & Chris T.
