ntl "respond" to Cap Letter thread

Got this today. Make what you will of it, but I call this a complete load of rubbish. It has not answered any of the questions in the thread whatsoever, despite me asking for an official comment.

I don't think he has even bothered to read the thread, and to say that other cutomers have received this over the last 12 months is BS, because we haven't had one reported case up until a few days ago.

Subject: RE: bandwidth cap enforcing

Dear Keyser,

Thank you for your note.

The guideline was introduced 12 months ago, following a similar decision by BT, in order to ensure that the actions of an individual customer does not impact on the enjoyment of the service by other customers locally. Nothing has changed. The letter featured on the thread is a standard note and as a general rule those customers who have received it over the last 12 months have shown a genuine willingness to work with us to address the issue.

If you are a customer who has received this letter, please do not hesitate to contact the Broadband Support Team on 01792 614432 between the hours of 08:00 to 18:00 if you would like to discuss this issue further.

Regards,

Paul.

Hi Paul,

I believe you are now the director of Internet, and as such responsible for the broadband Cap policy.

May I request an official comment from ntl on the contents of this nthellworld thread:

http://forum.nthellworld.co.uk/showt...9&page=1&pp=15

As you can see, ntl needs to rethink their publicised limit, as enforcing something other than in the AUP does not appear to be working.

We look forward to hearing from ntl on this matter soon.

Regards,

Keyser

Nope, you said standard ntl response. No mention of management. A blanket statement about everything ntl.

Paul,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately you do not appear to have even read the thread or given any sort of response to any of the issues raised in it.

For example:

1. Why is what is being enforced completely different from the limits set in the ntl AUP?
2. Why is ntl's limit the same on all speeds of service?
3. Why is ntl's limit the equivalent of 30GB/month but worded in a confusing way?
4. Why does ntl have a 30GB/month limit and Nildram have a 150GB limit per month, when ntl's service is a lower contention?

I am not impresesd with your response at all, and have posted your reply on the nthellworld forum here for all your customers to read:

http://forum.nthellworld.co.uk/showthread.php?t=8068

I suggest that it is about time ntl started treating their customers with some sort of respect and provided some PROPER answers, not the usual PR waffle.

Please do not patronise me with such a response again, but instead get someone onto the nthellworld forums to answer the questions in the thread, which is now 400 posts long and come from PAYING customers.

Regards,

Keyser

I would never tar you and others who come her to help. I still say the beef is with NTL bosses they are the only ones who can do something. I do understand its very hard for the NTL workers who are now perhaps feeling they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Let us remember that those who come on here do so in their spare time they don't have to its not part of their job discription give them a break....

Lets hope that gets a better response Keyser. I still think we should head in groups to the main region offices and demand a response from NTL!

Woah, poor old Paul, just towing the company line, and look what he gets

Nice sentiment Keyser but I'm not sure that you'll evoke any more of a response than what you've had already, it seems that guy genuinely believes in what he's saying and I doubt he's going to be in a direct position to change policy on this.

Still, could be wrong

Re: ntl "respond" to Cap Letter thread

Perhaps we should all send emails to him requesting it being changed to monthly amount not daily. Paul.Rusby@ntl.com

I had a warning on .com from a mod for doing just that he also had one of them forward teh email to him sop he knew everything I said in the email.
