ntl wythenshawe

Right then here's the puzzle.

I rang my CS today to make 3 complaints. (save them up and kick off all at once you see)

The girl I spoke to rang me back but when my phone rang the number was an 0117 number and not an 0161 number. The girl also had an accent but I am no good at placing them.

Any ideas why I was not speaking to Wythenshawe?

Where was I speaking to?

When call up if there are CS staff without calls and all at your nearest one are busy you are diverted to the call center that has staff without calls.

That is how BT have always done it and the idea isn't a bad one. Why wait in a que if there is someone in a call center in another part of the country not busy.

This is ntl though and judging by the time that is spent by many people waiting for cs to answer the phone I doubt they use that system.

BTW This can also happen if you don't enter your phone number when prompted ( which is actually a very good idea imo)

Wonderfull world of call routing, site a will get 80% of calls with site b getting the rest. Done in the telco network and is managed by call centres to ensure that call waiting times are reduced (ha!)?

my guess!?

I usually always get to speak to the lovely staff at Manchester It just takes a bloody hour sometimes. Perhaps the call centre was swamped and you got diverted to a less busy one.

I drive past the Wythenshawe building occasionally (just yesterday in fact).

The wing where the fire was is still unusable IMO, the damaged roof just being sheeted over with plastic and the grounds below fenced off. There doesn't appear to have been any repairs attempted yet.

It looks like ntl have permanently vacated that wing as the "For rent" signs are up and the ntl logo signs for that section are missing. (Although I'm not sure if ntl ever occupied 100% of the building). I understood a lot of staff from there transferred to the Baguley building ??

Correct - they certainly couldn't go back in after the fire...

Here's the facts on Wythenshawe.

The damaged area has not been reoccupied, no staff have been back there. Just over a third of the building is still in use, which was undamaged by the fire. The centre was only closed for a day after the fire, the undamaged portion was reoccupied almost immediately, although main reception and canteen areas are in the damaged section so are out of use. Some staff were moved to another location.

Don't know if the damaged section has been handed back or not.

The For Rent signs have been up for over a year now though. They are not new and were not put there because of the fire.

I know that Steve but I can't help it unless you want to start a petition to bring back Kerry-Anne

Maybe mail AG with the list of names too
