I didnt see that thread, but if the "rumour" you refer to is the redundancies, then i can caonfirm it 100%, as my wife has been told today that she is to be made redundant.

Begining of Sept it is to close, with a further 1 months wages being paid. Wife been there 5 years and will walk away with 4 months wages tax free. Still ****, but a lot more than the statutory minimum they have to pay by law.

Jobs can be applied for in the Newport or Swansea offices, but i think she`s going to take the package and apply to go to the 118 118 call center. Still, lots of time yet anyway. She`s still on maternity for another 3 months, so she wont be going back to NTL full stop.

Looking on the bright side at least she wont have to put up with the BS anymore.

Shame that they are all having to go though

Some top guys down there.

M8, im telling you, its not a rumour, its a FACT. And its been on the card for a long time. It makes perfectly good buisness sense. NTL dont own the building in cardiff. It is leased, and apparently the lease is up. With the restructuring of the company, and faults being maintained in Belfast now, renweing the lease was never an option. Its a bummer, but from our point of view, there are plenty of part time jobs out there (forgot to mention she`s part time) for her. Although i doubt any other company offers anywhere near the incentives NTL has done/does.

*If* this is true, then there will currently be a lot of unhappy people.

I am myself facing a potential redundancy at the moment, and that coupled with all the rumours the are doing the rounds where I work, is not a nice place to be.

So feel free to discuss it, but please spare a thought for those people who may be involved in this scenario.
There is no *if*
Take it from me, its FACT, and not a rumour.
Wait till tomorrow, im sure bbc.co.uk will post details.

I take it you dont work in NTL Cardiff, coz if you did, you would have been informed today of your pending redundancy.
