I came across a magazine advert today that gives a list of 10 comparisons between NTL/Telewest and other service providers, and some of the statements on it I think are wrong or misleading. I don't have access to a scanner but here are the statements I have a problem with:
Quote:
Cable broadband gives you unlimited downloads.
Unlike BT, Talk Talk or Orange.

According to their website Orange do provide an "unlimited" broadband service.
Quote:
Cable digital TV gives you instant access to over 500 films and TV shows.
Not available with Sky or Freeview
|
This suggests that Sky don't provide a pay per view films service, which I'm fairly sure isn't the case.
Quote:
Cable's on-demand digital TV service automatically saves up the pick of the last weeks TV for you.
Not available with Sky or Freeview
|
In my experience NTL provides a very small number of BBC shows, and that's it. From what I've heard about Sky+ you may have to set it, but it does a much better job of this.
Quote:
The basic cable phone package includes unlimited weekend calls up to an hour to any UK landline.
BT's doesn't.

Although this may be correct, from my understanding there is very little difference, ie NTL: the call is free up to an hour BT: the call is 5.5p up to an hour.
