Installation Engineers

Hi All,
New to the forum and thought this would be a good place to ask if anyone knows how to contact NTL/Telewest regarding vacancies for Installation Engineers. I'm due for redundancy from my current job at the end of August and the installation side of NTL as interested me for quite a while as a possible career move. (I anticipate the obligatory don't do it mate reply )
I've looked on the careers section of the NTL site but have never found any positions advertised for IE's.

Any help with phone, name or contact details would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help.
Pitt

P.S I'm based in Bolton North West

Re: Installation Engineers

It would be whoever is the contractor for the area you would contact. Someone more local might be able to advise you who they are.

Re: Installation Engineers

Think I should have read more of the forum post before posting my 1st thread. From what I can gather NTL are looking or are now outsourcing all there installation work to various contractors and as a result NTL are no longer employing IE’s direct.

Am I correct? Term: Installation Engineer as in installing TV, Broadband and Telephone service's within the home as opposed to routing cable to property.

Thanks
Pitt

Re: Installation Engineers

Installations has been done by contractors in many areas for a long time.

I am not sure which contractor does the work in your area, but two companies that spring to mind are Kelly Communications and Transcable.

Re: Installation Engineers

I see its business as usual regarding the standard of installation with the contractors. I believe this is the way forward now INHOUSE installs are going to be TUPED. This is the stardard ntl installation!
