Can I remove my TV & Telco

I wanted to know, I ordered NTL last March via their website, but it took them till the end of june to install the services. Am I under contract from when I placed my order or is it from the date of install?

I want to keep my broadband as I have never really had any problems with it and now that it's unlimited (2Mb) it's great for me! However I want to get rid of my telco & tv as I will be going for sky as I don't need a phone line with it, as I have my own equiptment!

Can I drop those two services now as I am not ending my contract as my account will still be open and active as a broadband customer, Or do I have to keep all three services until the 12 months is up. (when will that be?)

Worst case is end of june so about 4 months.

I have no special deal, I pay 10.50 for telco, 11.00 for tv and 24.99 for BB if that helps!

Thanks for any advice.

Re: Can I remove my TV & Telco

I asked NTL same question, as my contract runs out in July, I offered to pay it off early, as like you, I've got sky for tv and BT for 'phone, only wanting the 2 meg broadband, they said best to wait untill contract runs out, but as a way of saying thanks for staying, and keeping one out of three services, I got 10meg broadband at the two meg price for one month, thereafter, they reduced the whole package to just £29 a month (2meg broadband, tv & 'phone) saying their system preferes doing things this way?
Anyway, even after I explained I would not be using the tv or 'phone side again, ever, they said not to worry, keep enjoying the broadband, and in june, four weeks before my contract runs out, call them to officially cancel the two services not needed, and they'll keep my broadband going as the only live account thereafter.
Hope this helps

Re: Can I remove my TV & Telco

Stargates, You can cancel a contract at any time, NTL cannot refuse to do it neither can any other company for that matter. However you will be billed for any outstanding term within that contract.

That much I do know.

Nice of NTL to do you a deal on the BB, however I am not a heavy user but I would rather have an unlimited service than a capped one.

And thanks for the info Marge, I will give 30 days notice to NTL on the 26 may 2006 as my services were installed on the 26 june 2005.
