I have just done a search for ntl on Google news and came across a site that is selling our (ntl customer) details to whoever wants them. Is this legal, data protection laws at least? I've never given permission to ntl to sell my personal details on... Link here:
I would hope that if you haven't given your consent dor your details to be sold on by ntl to their "partners" you won't be on there. Dunno if you could check that by some sort of data protection act enquiry.
Trouble is it's all too easy for Mr average to miss the don't sell my name tick box, that applied a few years ago. I think it's changed now that you have to positively consent to passing on your details, but dunno about old lists that the DPA says still have to be current and relevant

ntl seem to struggle with getting basic thing right quite often. I wonder if they managed to see/remember/bothered with the little opt-out box I ticked ten years ago.
