In Todays Telegraph

From todays Telegraph

Quite suprised to find this in the Telegraph this morning. Looks like the pr train is in full force lol.

Quote:
As well as running his own business from home, Michael is a movie fan who likes to download entire films. “I know people who say it takes two days over their broadband connections but it takes us a couple of hours or less,” says Soulla.
Surely thats is asking for trouble though?

I can't access your link Phil. It's showing as 'Server not found'. Any chance of you giving me a headline or something so that I can look for myself.

Re: In Todays Telegraph

That looks to me like somebody's paid for an advert in the paper.

Re: In Todays Telegraph

Even if it is a payed advert. The quote about downloading full movies is surely asking for trouble. imho it could easily be misinterpreted.

Re: In Todays Telegraph

The clue is in the link - telegraph.co.uk/sponsored. It's what we used to call an 'advertorial'.

And with iTunes (amongst others) flogging online movie download/rental like there's no tomorrow, I wouldn't have thought that was a dangerous thing to advertise these days. A few years ago, perhaps, but not any more.

Re: In Todays Telegraph

Yeah it's paid for, note 'Sponsored' in the subsection.

It could be misinterpreted but there are plenty of places to download movies perfectly legally.

At least they're not advertising is as great for downloading Spiderman before cinema release like a certain advert in Leeds did

You know, I was going to mention that, and then I remembered what happened to the thread at the time ...

So, no need for anyone to report it to the ASA ... this time.

If anyone fancies a wee look at a classic thread from this site's 'Hell' days, they don't get much better than this IMO:

I dunno about that:

"The Caders pay just £56 a month for their top of the range VIP package from Virgin Media"

The VIP package is way more than that. They're obviously on about the triple XL bundle, which isn't a "VIP" package.

Re: In Todays Telegraph

No, they exist - but because the item is sponsored by Virgin, it's only going to tell you what VM wants to tell you about them. The Telegraph won't have sent a journo round to their house to ask how good it really is, whether they've ever had a missed engineer appointment, what they think of offshore callcentres, etc.

It all sounds like a fairy tale to me the way it's written.

Did they do a 8Mb one?

I got that feeling from it too.

"Once upon a time in Vrirgin Media land....."

Shame the reality of being a customer is nothing like what the advert portrays.

I believe the only 8Mb product was on ADSL. I know NTL didn't do 8Mb cable.
