Virgin Media in the local news!
Another bit of bad news for Virgin Media, looks like they need to be more careful with their use of mailing lists!

Re: Virgin Media in the local news!
Why did he think the letter was for him? Did he ask any of the guys staying in his loft.

Yup it really is awful. Business just as usual. Nothing ever changes.

Not much you can about it if this is indeed the case:

"We are in contact with that third party to investigate this error, which we take very seriously.

I doubt if any company would hand check all entries on a purchased data base.

Re: Virgin Media in the local news!
Nothing much changed I guess.
I remember an occasion that one the ntl Headend's received a threat to cut off service for an unpaid bill. (I believe it was not the first time)
The letter was addressed to Mr Headend
And it started off 'Dear Mr Headend'
Cabletel, ntl, virgin, call them whatever but they have always been consistently incompetent.

Re: Virgin Media in the local news!
That's a bad incident - very bad, but it needs pointing out that the data came from a third party, according to VM.

Re: Virgin Media in the local news!
I dont see the big deal. Much ado about nothing to me. If it happened to me Id find it funny, ring them to let them know, have a laugh about it and leave it there. Some people have either have too much time on their hands or just crave attention. Mistakes happen.

Quite agree.
I also agree with the comment that if the mail wasn't addressed to him, he shouldn't have even opened it.
