If you read the post I was quoting, and replying to, you'll see why it's implicit.

That doesn't look like cancelling a DD and paying through CC or cheque, that purely and simply is not paying for services whilst under a contractual obligation to do so, which IS a breach.
A certain degree of assumption is required when making any point which is down to the intelligence of the reader to work out. If the reader isn't intelligent enough to then why should one adjust to the lowest level? Or caveman speak?

Re: Moved house, can't get Virgin, but they won't let me terminate contact
To be honest it doesn't really matter what other companies may or may not do.
Virgin contracts are for a supply of services at a specified address, with no guarantee of any forward transfer. It doesn't matter where you move, if you end the contract within the minimum term, Virgin charge an early disconnection fee.
If, and only if, Virgin then supply you with services at the address you move to, under a new minimum term contract, will the fee from your previous agreement be waived

Well, you do support forest, so I had to account for that. But still, thanks!

I've just moved house and the new place is a non cable area. So Virgin can't supply me with Internet or Cable TV.
My problem is that they won't let me leave my contract and want me to pay for a service I simply can not get from them.
My only choice is to get freeview and the internet from another supplier via the phone line but I can't afford to pay for something from Virgin I can't get.
How on earth can I leave them and terminate my contract due to them not being able to supply me with any service.
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

Hi!
Im not sure if this has been touched on yet...but as with all VM contracts...If you move to a non-cabled area and take beyond cable service any early disconnection fees will be waivered, but they will be charged initially.
I understand where you're coming from on this one, but they do put it in the T&C's about these charges so taking beyond cable may be your only option if you want the EDF's refunded

What relevance does that have? Ken Clarke supports Forest and he successfully ran the economy for years before the red crew ruined it.

Just out of interest, as I'm leaving my (not quite ex) can I transfer my virgin account to her and thus not pay the disconnection fee?

Yes, as long as they have been in the property over 6 months. There would be a £20 transfer fee, and they would start a new 12 month contract

Another question if you don't mind
If I transfer to the virgin adsl service do I get to keep my @ntlworld email address or do I have to have a new one?
