Re: virgin media extending network!!

They're really not expanding the network, except maybe for business areas.

The people that answer those questions arnt usual VM employees, its another company that does it

Went there and asked them about their FUP, they point me at the STM page.

I point out that according to the information on that page, I will be capped within 30/40 minutes of use, seems very draconian, can this possibly be right?

"Thanks for contacting Virgin Media", and then the connection is dropped

Re: virgin media extending network!!

its all depends on what you would class as extending the network.

They are 100% not laying new cable to new areas but they are backfilling parts of the network where new builds have gone up or a roads been missed etc but even still this isn't mass scale.

Re: virgin media extending network!!

i know a guy who works for virgin and he said that virgin were looking into finding some extra funding to add an extra 4-5 million houses to there network because then they would cover all the uk urban households and 70% of the whole uk BUT if they cant find any extra funding then are DEFINATELY going to fill in all the gaps in the network e.g new housing and streets that ntl and telewest missed so this means thely be adding about an extra 1.5-2 millions households tom there network and once this is complete they will cable all new houses that are built in the future by installing the cable network while the houses are being built

They have layed new cable in a new area less than 4 months ago here

They -are- extending the network...but only where its viable and profitable to do so...countryside area's are still out of luck.
