£62 for BBxl and phone......should I ask for a better deal?
My last bill was for £62. I have BBxl, suppose to be 20mb, but certainly don't feel like that. Speed tests return between 9000 and 12500 kbps, tonight the result is,
I was thinking of ringing customer services and seeing if I could maybe get a discount or better deal. Also I am supposed to have free TV, according to the Virgin site, basic channels as far as I know but free TV none the less. But I haven't. I don't have a TV cable box from Virgin. Never have.
After reading through some of the posts I see people seem to be getting all services and still paying less per month than me.
I'd like some advice on what to do and if I was to ring who do I speak to.
thanks.

I am paying £46.45 for BB XL and Phone XL which is a lot more than others are paying. I think this price is the bundle price including paying by Direct Debit and e-mail billing and is available for the asking, which you have to do, otherwise they will charge you full whack.

Do you have the free TV package too?
I've been reading through some threads here and also had a look at VM website, and there is mention of the free TV when taken with BB and phone.
I want the TV but when I ring I will ask for it and I bet I get told I have to pay for installation. Installation!!! send me the box and I'll plug it in, surely it can't be that hard. I had TV when I first had Virgin/Ntl installed so the cable is still there, it'll be a matter of plugging the right bits in............won't it?

You're totally right! We'll ask for £30 install fee for one of our guys to come install it, or you can ask for a "Quickstart" which will be free, and will just get sent in the post and you plug straight into the white box on you're wall :-)
TBH in my opinion, you are paying quite a bit, I'd definatly call up and ask for a better offer, the more services you take though the bigger discounts you get, but we dont class free tv as a 3rd service..... it might actually save you more money, or at least keep the price the same by taking TV size L then you can have 3 for 30, just ask for quotes on both and decide if its worth the extra channels

No I don’t have any TV package because I gave up with watching TV years ago, but they keep ringing up to offer me TV for a fiver a month, last week I think they offered me V+ for a fiver a week or a month, I wasn’t really listening.

Re: £62 for BBxl and phone......should I ask for a better deal?
BB XL and Phone what?
Current web page prices are BB XL £20 (Introductory £10 for 3 months) with phone - so bundle is £31 with BB XL & Phone M
Unless you have a VERY high phone package, £62 for Phone and BB is mad!
It appears that BB XL prices have dropped significantly, at least on a "with phone package" basis, you are quite likely paying full old price for that, and full old price for phone, because thats how it always was.

Blimey welshboy £62 does seem excessive for BB-XL and whatever phone package your getting. For £65 you can get BB-XL and TV-XL and Phone XL with this you not only get a standard V set-top-box but you also get a V+ box. I think the installation for the V+ is £30, either way its a wholelot better than what you are getting at present.
