Upgrade costs from 3 for £30?
We are currently on the 3 for £30, M TV, M BB (2mb) & L Phone. We have been happy with the service upto now, but are looking at possable upgrade options depending on the costs.
Possably or probably the Tv Choice on Demand service as it's only an extra £5per month. But it's the broadband upgrade prices we are having a problem getting the correct price for on Virgin's website.
As said currently on a 2mb speed but want to upgrade to 4mb (now 10mb by default). But when I'm going through the process on there site it quotes the price of the net speed we are on now plus the difference to the 4mb speed.
Meaning it seems to be quoting up £18pm to upgrade to the speed we are on now and £25pm to upgrade to 4mb!!!!!.
Does anyone know if it will there for cost us £25pm more to upgrade from 2mb to 4mb (which seems crazy) or just £7pm more as thats the difference in price between the 2 net speeds?.

Re: Upgrade costs from 3 for £30?
Thanks for the reply. So it seems we would be paying (assuming the £7 more for 2mb to 4mb upgrade is right, which I'd think so) £42 per month for medium tv, tv choice on demand, 4mb Broadband (probably 10mb here in Liverpool by now?) and large phone.
I'm not to bothered as such about the price. But it's a shame we still have a number of months left on our first contract, as it seems clear we could try and down that price a little!.

Can you post what you are on as that doesn't seem right.
If you are on Virgin's pricing for those services you should be paying £23.45 plus phone calls for all that
The 3 for £30 is phone M, TV L and BB M

Re: Upgrade costs from 3 for £30?
Well when we got cable last summer it was deffo the 3 for £30 that we picked. The broadband was only available in that offer as 2mb, medium. The TV is the medium package and the phone line large.
We were given the option of having either the large tv and medium phone, or medium tv and large phone (I know this is not normally an option but the gf knew the sales person). We opted for the large phone package as that is unlimited landline calls which we would benefit more from over having the extra tv channels.

Re: Upgrade costs from 3 for £30?
It is definately not right.
TV M, BB M and Phone L is the 2 for £20 with TV M + £3.45 for the phone L
the other options were
TV XL, BB M and Phone M for £30 (free upgrade to XL TV for £12 months)
or
TV L, BB M and Phone XL for £30 (free upgrade to Talk Unlimited for 12 months)
(both of which are not around now)

Re: Upgrade costs from 3 for £30?
Hmmm, interesting this as I just grabbed a recent bill to see what it says on there (Which I guess most dont check anything other than the amount lol). And the details seem wrong on the tv package.
Looks like we are on large tv and not medium!!!!!!!. I guess thats right then?.

Re: Upgrade costs from 3 for £30?
Right then you are on the 3 for £30 with free TU (Phone XL) for 12 months
So yes you it would cost £42 to go to BB L and TV Choice or £46 for TV XL and BB L
There aren't any other offers that could beat that unfortunately.

Re: Upgrade costs from 3 for £30?
Totally forgot about the talk unlimited being only for 12 months. The sales person never made this clear to my memory. I'd assume talk unlimited would run for as long as we stay on that deal and dont downgrade.
I barely use the phone anyways, so the gf can pay for any calls after june lol.

Also out of interest, if I phone VM tonight to upgrade both to tv on demand and 4mb bb, how long would I expect to wait untill it's setup and working my end?.

Sorted, working within 5 mins, got the on demand working and full 4mb (3973d 364u).
Got to be happy and the speed they completed it. Only time will tell how the bb performs in busy hours.

Re: Upgrade costs from 3 for £30?
Er I hope I did'nt speak to soon as we now seem to have a little problem. The net is fine, but the tv seems to have gone off on 1!.
For ALL the on demand services , films, tv, catch-up & music seem to have gone, nothing there at all. Tv choice on demand is what we wanted more than the net upgrade. But every time we goto look at that section we get a "there is currently no content in this section" message. The same for all the other on demand sections\services.
Is this normal when a person upgrades for the new service to do down for a while?. It just that it worked fine when we tried it after 5 mins like the guy on the phone said.
