Changing Packages
I've been with Virgin (NTL) for many years now and currently have:
M Phone
L Broadband
L TV
I've recently finally got myself a mobile on contract with T-Mobile as opposed to Pay as you go and have been thinking I no longer need my landline. What I am looking at doing is switching to the following services.
L Broadband
XL TV with V+
I've been looking on the website but all of the prices state that they are when a phone line is also taken. At a guess I would think I would be paying £20.50 + £25.00 = £45.50 + the one off V+ charge but I cant find the option to not have the phone.
Unfortunately whats confused matters more is looking at the small print for the various new customers bundles the following is stated.
Quote:
|
Broadband Size: L and Phone Size: M bundle: Broadband Size: L (up to 4Mb) is £8 a month and Phone Size: M is £11 a month for the first 3 months, which is £19 a month. After 3 months, the standard bundle price applies, which is Broadband Size: L (up to 4Mb) for £16 a month and Phone Size: M for £11 a month, which is £27 a month. Offer ends 30th April 2008.
|
This seems to state that the standard price for L Broadband is £16 whereas I am currently paying £25 which I thought was the standard rate.
In any case I am waiting untill both the Phorm and New V+ box issues are cleared up before getting into a new contract or even enquiring about changing.

I dont want to depress you even more G UK but the price for TV-XL as you quoted at £20.50 is, Im almost certain if you take M phone package with it.
I may be wrong, but if not you can expect to add a few more pounds to £20.50

Re: Changing Packages
I'm not even sure if its possible to have TV without Phone, Not needing the phone line I was hoping to be able to up the TV package with what I would save on the Phone.

I'm sure I read somewhere recently that all new customers to VM has to take a phone package with their tv. But up until 4months ago I only had the tv, which was tv-xl with 2 stbs, and I was only being charged £20.50 for the xl package, I guess you'll have to endure the nightmare of ringing India to find out Anyway all the best , and good luck.

Re: Changing Packages
You can have TV and BB without phone no problem.
As you stated the standard prices on this new customer bundle is £16 for BB L when taken out with a phoneline i.e. it's only applicable to new customers who sign up for this deal.
The standard prices for XL TV with V+ and BB L is indeed £45.50 + £75 install.

Re: Changing Packages
There is a TV and BB bundle, 2 for £25, which includes BB M and TV L. This can be upgraded to BB L for another (25-18) £7 and to TV XL for another (20.50-11.50) £9, making a total of £41 per month.
The V+ would then be a £75 install charge.
You will probably have to go through Customer Relations (aka Retentions) to get this as you are going from three services down to two but they should be willing to retain you if you suggest you are going to take it all away.
Phone 150 then take the option that you wish to leave.

Thanks Chaps, I think its something I'll be doing but not just yet. I'll wait on what is happening with Phorm first.
