Re: Virgin Offer in the Post

You don't pay £75 install if you are going for the £65 XL plus. It is £30

Re: Virgin Offer in the Post

I had this offer through today and can say it is NOT £56, must be a typo on the OP's behalf. It is £65 a month.

I quote the whole letter bar my name:

"Dear Mr ****,

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for being such a special customer with a very special offer. So, here's the chance to get the biggest and best TV, broadband and phone, all in XL size, for the special price of just £65 a month when you pay by Direct Debit.

If you bought all of these services seperately it would cost over £96, so you'll save £31 a month.

To be part of something special, call 0800 052 0855. We look forward to hearing from you soon."

Then it signs off with "Love the Virgin Media Team" at the bottom in handwriting.

I would take a photo, but have no cam with me atm.

I assume this is negotiable as I'm only paying £15 for the installation.

Re: Virgin Offer in the Post

Officially the install fees shouldn't be discounted. The V+ £75/£150 especially.

But with most things, it doesn't always go that way lol

Re: Virgin Offer in the Post

Guess I was lucky then

Incidentally she insisted on calling it the ip package.

'You're an Important Person now sir, not a VERY important person, but still important'

She was very helpful tho. Full marks to her.

This just gets better and better, that's potentially £60 cable forum will have saved me, thanks very much Jefferson, also a big thank you to other forum users for the great help and advice.

PS One other thing while I remember, I seem to recall on another thread someone saying when you order your V+ box you have to ask for a HDMI lead to be brought by the engineer or they will use the component leads. Is this correct?

Well I did to be on the safe side, and she added it to my order/notes.

I think (and someone will correct me if I'm wrong) you get a HDMI cable and they don't do component cables.

Very strange.. I had the offer card and it definitely said £56 per month. I've taken VM up on it. The call centre woman confirmed the price as £56.

You pay the standard rate for the three services and then get a discount of £20.50. Works out at £55.95. VM are really giving you the TV pack for nothing.

Re: Virgin Offer in the Post

There are two different ones.

One is the Triple XL which is £56. 1 Box only and if you wanted the the V+ it would be a £75 install fee (£5 per month for second box)

The other is XL Plus. This is the same as above but includes a V+ and second box (if you want it) and you only have to pay £30 install. That is £65 per month

Seems to good to be true, but I rang through the VM and they confirmed £30 for the V+ box and thats it!
