V1 might be a tad more credible if it weren't a dedicated 4:3 only channel.

Re: SKY1 -VS- Virgin1 ?

I enjoyed Virgin 1.

I watched chuck last night and this was pretty good.

I had already watched the unit from bravo I think virgin will concentrate its budget to bring in shows to virgin 1. Personally I dont think its wise move to sell off as it cuts there arm but I suppose we will get virgin 2 & 3 as content increases.

Barb figures show virgin 1 becoming a real contender to sky 1. I would say virgin quite smug and pleased with its fanbase.

Whether this will continue who knows but to get a stable 1,777 viewing figure in a short spell of its existence when sky 1 around 2,500 ish is not too shabby. When you consider Lost is the only show proping sky up big time comparing to SC to virgin 1.

Sky would have had pretty much dismal figures if want for terry pratchet THE COLOUR OF MAGIC hats off to them getting it.

Pretty much every other program is not that watched anymore on the sky 1 people starting to wane on simpsons looking at its fall from grace.

I think it will get boost from the quiz show by noel edmunds as it has that wide appeal when it comes back.

I think we will see the gap gradually close.

It was a smart move to put virgin 1 on freeview basic but it needs to start before 6pm.

Hiroki is on a distinguished road
Re: SKY1 -VS- Virgin1 ?

Both of those channels have nothing of value for me they just show the same typical American programs.

I can't choose between them really because I watch neither.

Have their been more official barb figures released for virgin1 lately then? Do you know what it's averaging now?

Agree about the simpsons hugely unfunny these days. I love the first 11 series and then it just started getting rubbish and very unfunny. The movie was a saving grace for the franchise though that was brilliant. I think the only thing that can save the Simpsons now is consecutive movie hits like the last one that broke loads of records.

They didn't get Terry Pratchett they commissioned it themselves.
They might be able to do more like that if they weren't spending silly amounts securing Lost like £1m an episode.

Shame they dont do viewing breakdown on top ten most watched like sky 1.

I think SCC got about 500k viewers in its first showing.

If anybody can give us update what its pulling would be appreciated being barb dont give the breakdown figures yet.
