Changing packages
I am currently paying £34 for the 2mb BB Medium, TV Large and Phone Medium package. I tried to downgrade the package to the £15.50 http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html...t/bb_deal.html because I do not watch the extra tv channels so it's a waste.
I was told that this deal is for new customers only, so is there a way around this? such has closing my account and starting a new one.
The current package I am on seems to be steep compared to other deals around like sky.

Re: Changing packages
You can't have that package with the TV service its for Telco and BBI customers only. The best you could get would be the 2 4 20 deal with free tv.
The same would cost about £30 with sky including line rental so its not that steep.

Re: Changing packages
Just phoned retentions and they brought the price down to £30 with the same TV and phone package but increased the BB to 4Mb, which I thought was good and signed up with.
Just wondering if I will be entitled to the up and coming BB speed increase from 4 Mb to 10 Mb? any ideas?

Re: Changing packages
the contract seems very similar to my old contract except the BB speed is increased and the price has been reduced by a few pounds
The only worry that I have is the BB download limit any idea if there are any changes from my previous contract I took out about 2 years ago? or anything else to look out for?

Re: Changing packages
Nope. Only thing different is the requirement to keep the services for 12 months, and the price you pay. the T&Cs are the same as they were before (but they always include a copy with the contract letter)
http://www.virginmedia.com/help/traffic-management.php is where to find the policy for your Broadband tier

Re: Changing packages
I just had my new bill today with the new package which was arranged through retentions.
They are still charging me the same amount of £34 (although the BB is now 4Mb). I contacted their retentions and they insisted that the £30.45 that they quoted me previously was wrong. I have now had to downgrade my tv package to the free tv channel package to get the original quoted package price of £30.45.
I am not happy because they definitely previously quoted £30.45 which included the large tv package.
I am not happy and they are insisting that I am now on a new 12 month contract although it was not the package I arranged for!
anything I can do?

Re: Changing packages
I only received a letter stating that there was a new 12 month contract also enclosed was a cancellation form, no mention of any services or prices.

Re: Changing packages
Billed the following for this month:
Line Rental = £11
Talk Evening & Weekend = £3.45
Loyalty Pack BB/Phone/TV A = -£16.50
TV Size L = £11.50
Broadband Size L = £25
Total £34.45
(Virgin retentions quoted £30.45 for this package - but now deny that they quoted this price)
previously month before I phoned retentions
Line Rental = £11
Talk Evening & Weekend Local = £2.00
Talk E&W Local BB M TV L Saving = -£8.50
TV Size L = £11.50
Broadband Size M = £18
Total £34.00

Re: Changing packages
I know if not helpful but I could see this coming from the second you said what you were offered. There isn't any deal that would get you what you said for that price.

I have heard of others getting even better deals than I was offered, or perhaps it's a myth?
I thought retentions would come up with a special price to keep my custom especially because I was signing for a new 12 month contract.
