.. Apparently they are sending me out a free TV Box that connects to my modem - no charge.

It will be their version of freeview. What package are you currently on? The VM website leads you to believe you have to upgrade to Bundle 1 (£19.99 a month) to get it. BUT if you're on another package (mine is £14.99 a month with phone calls) - you don't have to upgrade at all, you can choose to have it in addition to your current package for the same price

Just be wary of being signed into a 12 month contract
