Re: Are Virgin Media working over Xmas.

We get the standard bank holidays plus 24 Dec declared a VM holiday. Shift workers and on-call will operate.

I'm off from midday 21st to 7th Jan. But on-call for some of that time.

Re: Are Virgin Media working over Xmas.

It's only upto quite recently that folk don't have to work Christmas Day, I've worked my fair share before now. Can you imagine the complaints if they were shut for two weeks especially after tonights events

Re: Are Virgin Media working over Xmas.

Most of the cover, during holidays like christmas and bank holidays is done by the offshore centers.

Re: Are Virgin Media working over Xmas.

What I think hes talking about is the Annual Xmas Freeze on the network. This dosn't mean that any staff will have time off, Just that they won't make any none essential changes to the network incase anything goes wrong.

The only days that most people seem to have off are Xmas day, Boxing Day and New Years day. Theres Also extra Holiday Allowance avalible so more people can book time off at the same time then other times of the year,

Here is a good one, what happens if the service breaks down during xmas, what about the engineers, l know that hard working cs work, otherwise it is a long way for someone to come from India (l believe that is there new call centre).

I doubt he is 'proud' but he hasnt done anything wrong, he has just provided a little commentary on his experiences. So why the comment?

Obviously a youngish lad and thats what they/we do, especially at Christmas and New Year.
