Is the VIP Pack still available?
I rang up VM yesterday to see if the VIP pack was still available and the lady I spoke to said yes. My bill was £88 pounds this included about £14 of telephone calls so thought the VIP pack would be better as that includes all services/call charges for phone for a flat fee of £85.
Rang up today and spoke to an Asian gentleman who said the telephone call charges were ON TOP of the £85 VIP pack? I thought the call charges were included in the price?
So is the VIP pack still available and are the telephone call charges in with the price as I can't find the VIP pack on VM's site anymore!

Yes, it's still available. All landline calls are included in with the VIP Pack, but 0844, 0845, 090, 0870, etc numbers aren't. All calls beginning with 01,02 and 03 are.

Re: Is the VIP Pack still available?
I've rung back a few times but keep getting the 'foreign' call centre! They just can't understand what I'm saying. Three times they've got my account number wrong it's just so frustrating I put the phone down on them and try again hoping to get a UK call centre but nol uck so far.
I dropped the movies as It was costing too much and the BB was cut to 4mb to save money but the deal was 6 months and that's up now so the price I pay is around the VIP price.
I'll keep plugging away and hope to speak to someone who understands me!

Re: Is the VIP Pack still available?
What about doing it online, it says you can save £30 that way?

Re: Is the VIP Pack still available?
I don't trust them enough to upgrade online, I want to speak to someone who KNOWS what they are doing not keep repeating 'Sorry, what did you want?' or 'You want to know what?" There are a lot of questions I want to ask and the answers depend on whether I change the package, online upgrades can't answer all those questions as my package is part XL TV, L BB and M phone!
I've tried to speak to 6 foreign people and got nowhere, they are useless as call centre people they just don't seem to grasp a simple concept like 'Is the VIP pack still availble?' greeted with a pause and then "You want to know what?". The times I've had to repeat myself is unacceptable, please use people who have a firm grasp and understanding of English VM!!!
I'll try around 7pm and see if I can get someone who's English!

Re: Is the VIP Pack still available?
Sorted!
Rang back half hour ago and got a nice lassie called Michelle who put me on the VIP pack, answered my queries and was 1000000000000000000000% more helpful/efficient than the 6 foreign people I spoke with earlier today!
Movies are now activated, BB only showing 10mb but that could be my SB4100? Might have to ring up and get the modem swapped!
We'll see how this pans out now, cheers for the replies!

Re: Is the VIP Pack still available?
Had to cancel the VIP Pack, they forgot to mention it was a new 12 month contract which I do not want to enter into! If I had known it was going to be a new 12 month contract I wouldn't have agreed to it.

I'm not sure that I understand the reticence that seems to exist over a 12 month 'contract'.
Surely 'Stay for at least twelve months' is your part of the bargain for getting a better price.
If you don't want to stick around that long then why aren't you going where ever you want to go now rather than waiting 2 months....4 months.....8 months.....?

Re: Is the VIP Pack still available?
I got the VIP pack about a month ago.
I firstly tried talking to some of the Virgin street vendors in our town centre who didn't really seem to know the detail and wanted to charge me £150 for the upgrade from my existing arrangement.
I then phoned Virgin and struck lucky when I spoke to a rather nice lady with a Scottish accent who gave me the VIP package for the £85. I asked her about the £30 installation charge and she described me as a "good customer" and simply waived it for me.
They came to install 6 days later and all has gone smoothly since (apart from them "forgetting" to request that my modem got upgraded from 4Mbps to 20Mbps. A quick phone call phone solved this problem and I now get a fantastic, um, 5.2Mbps).

Re: Is the VIP Pack still available?
Did they put you on a new 12 month contract though?
As I've said in my other thread I'm still 6 months into a 12 mointh contract and they won't let me have the VIP pack unless I agree to a new 12 month contract even though I'm paying VIP pack prices for less services!
So far i've had no feedback from VM regards the letter I sent them on the 10th or from a survey e-mail they sent me on the 9th asking how things went!

Re: Is the VIP Pack still available?
I was thinking of the £85 vip package but checking the website today everything seems to have changed!
I cant find a price and installation fees might be payable.(then again i might be thick and missing the obvious )
Does anybody know how much it costs per monthe for the 'old' £85 per month pack (if its changed) and do you have to pay any install fees?
Apologies if i am missing the obvious and appear a bit of a .

I apologise in advance but I really can't understand why so many people have a problem with a new 12 month contract.
In your case, I can only assume that you intend to take your business elsewhere for whatever reason in the time period between 6 months and 12 months from now.
If that is not the case then surely it is a no brainer to take more service for the same money and sign up for VIP?

Yes I do intend to take my business elsewhere as I will get a better deal with SKY, not that VM were mildy interested in me explaining that or my current package seemed unfair against the VIP Pack and kept repeating like a parrot you'll have to take out a new 12 month contract if you want the VIP Pack, BWAARK take out a new 12 month contract, BWAARK take out a new 12 month contract, ad inifnitum!
