Anyway to contact Virgin for less than 25p a minute? Email Address?
Hi, I've just got cable broadband with VM, had it afew months ago at a different property where I had to pay a £30 disconection fee. I've been told that now I'm a customer again I can get a refund on that fee.
However I was wondering if there was anyway to contact VM by email or by freecall, or anything cheaper than their 25p a minute line!
Thanks,
Ben.

Your issue is not technical so you don't need to phone the technical line which is the 25p a minute one.
You need to phone customer service on 150 or 0845 4541111 from a non-VM line.

Because we only did 10months of our 12month contract, so were charged £30ish. However we should now get a refund as we rejoined VM which was always the plan.
We only have mobiles, no landline here (students :P) so 0845 still in't cheap.

Does anyone nearby have a VM phone line? As it's free you could probably use theirs without too much fuss

Surely that's not a disconnection charge but a penalty for not complying with your contract. Not convinced that you should get this returned by becoming a customer again. Who's to say that you will not fail to keep to your contract again?

It's not that he hasn't kept to his contract, it's* that he's had a break of service in between moving his products from one property to another. VM allow you to move within your contract but it looks like the OP couldn't move them over immediately so they allowed him to disconnect and start a fresh.
Not too sure if technically it's a disconnect fee or what it should be called but I can see why VM would charge/refund it.
*from the sound of it

Begging your pardon but what's that got to do with you? Every customer has the right to try to get the best deal out of VM and VM has the right to waive its charges and penalties if it chooses!

It's got as much to do with me as anyone posting on this forum. My opinion (and that is all it was) is as valid as anyone else's, independent of whether it is right or wrong in your eyes...
...or has freedom of speech been taken away in this country?

Heavens to betsie, simmer down ... nobody called in the KGB. Your right to free speech is assured.
You have the right to an opinion. I have the right to disagree with you. That includes telling you I think its none of your business what has been arranged in a private contract between VM and a customer.
If you don't like having your opinions challenged, then don't share them.

Thank you. Please advise how to remove myself from this forum and take my valid comments elsewhere. I see that you have agreed with my opinions elsewhere recently.

Which proves that I am neither an Ernie C Fanboy, nor an Ernie C Hater.

Re: Anyway to contact Virgin for less than 25p a minute? Email Address?
willas00 - thanks I'll try that.
To clear up the fee for those of you interested:
-We had a 12month contract with VM last year, but moved out of the property after 10months (students term).
-Were told we could either pay the last 2months or pay a £30 disconection fee to end our contract early.
-We were also told that if we rejoin VM any time within 2years the fee is refunded (hence we choose this option).
-We did try to explain that we'd be with VM again at a new property in only 2months time, but they insisted on the free anyway.
-This has however worked out well, as we got the halfprice broadband deal as new customers, and have been told that we can still claim the fee back anyway
-We don't have a landline though, and calling VM is expensive from mobile....hence I came here to ask for alternative contact methods.
