Exclamation Big Brother sponsor threat

TELLY’S Big Brother may lose its sponsor amid falling ratings and criticism it has become boring.

Debt-laden Virgin Media got a cut-price deal to back the show after Carphone Warehouse pulled out in the wake of the Jade Goody Celebrity BB racism row.
Virgin will go ahead with sponsoring CBB when it returns in January.
But the firm is getting cold feet about next summer’s BB9.
A Virgin Media source said: “The series has not performed as well as hoped. And it may get just too expensive for us.”

Re: Big Brother sponsor threat

Big Brother has never been that popular but a fair ammount of people watch it. Some people in my family might not be impressed if we loose the On Demand content though!

Re: Big Brother sponsor threat

I lost whatever interest I had when they censor anything that resembles 'real life'. The whole point in the ultimate reality show was to show reality, obviously, but this is now a joke.

It is a con, the 'big brother' isn't us watching them, it's them dictating what we can, should, and will see.

Still, we moan when it's boring and we moan when there is controversy.

Re: Big Brother sponsor threat

That's the problem. To be interesting, the show needs to show conflict (or at least friction). While I don't agree with the whole Racist thing (the insults against Shilpa were not forgivable), the media attention has ensured that the producers of big brother have gone to far in stopped conflict.

On the other hand, had they not done what they have, they might have been percieved as doing nothing.
