Similar licensing deals with the Virgin Media brand are expected to follow in other European markets.
Zut alors!

It's just one great illusion though, there will be nothing to connect NTL/Telewest with Numéricable or any other European cableco, apart from Sir Richard's ubiquitous brand.

What's the point?

Re: Virgin Media expand to Europe!

Makes the brand name bigger for one, if the VM name is known to supply europe then it will make a possible sale in future more attractive. I would like to see Branson invest more in the UK's infrastructure and invest in more content

I think this is somebody's idea of a joke. it's an English tradition for us to dislike the french, and giving them Virgins name to use on their product is just a way to get at them.

But think of the potential benefits Paul: you'll be able to (try to) wind up people about VM in a Europe-wide forum!

Re: Virgin Media expand to Europe!

It seemed like a good idea, seeing as we're discussing the licensing of the Virgin brand to European cablecos, to discuss the UK operation in terms of the companies that underlie the Virgin brand in the UK.

Sorry if that was a little too subtle for you.

Re: Virgin Media expand to Europe!

As Europeans are more expectant of high standards when it comes to quality of service - if this does materialize, then VM will certainly have their work cut out for them.

I wonder how one would say (in French) "can you repeat that again please as I'm having great difficulty in understanding what you are saying". and that's only from the Birmingham call center - "yam alroit duck"

Apologies - couldn't resist that.

Si thee.
