Virgin Media Shops

Why cant I go into a virgin media shop and...........

1. Pay my bill, be it phone or tv or internet.

2. Open a Virgin Media package.

3. Talk to costumer services.

4. Broadband Help.

5. Report a fault.

6. Add your own to the list......................

Lets make a list of places you can have a service and pay them in person.....

British Gas

**Are the Virgin Media Shops (The big ones were they sell Mobile Phones/CDs/videos/dvds/computer games/book ect) part of the same group as VM?

Re: Virgin Media Shops

virgin megastores are part of the virgin brand but not really a part of virgin media. why would you want to pay your bill there, wouldnt it be just as easy to go to a paypoint there's more of those than VM shops anyway

Many years ago, all the utiliy companies had their own shops. British Gas, Your local Electric and Water suppliers and BT. You could do all the above there. Happy days when you could speak to someone face to face

Re: Virgin Media Shops

the Virgin "shops" are actually known as VirginMegastores.

Virgin Megastores is a seperate company to Virgin Media.

As it happens Virgin Megastores is one of the few companies that RB actually started him self, i belive in the UK they are still 100% owned by the Virgin Gorup.

Virgin media is a seperate company, with 10% of it owned by RB (but possibale not Virgin) and they rent the name Virgin for a yearly fee.

As they are 2 seperate companies, its not as easy as you think, theres just as much chance been able to pay your bill in HMV as in VirginMegastores (although if it was to happen, they would have a little more bargining as they share the virgin name).

As it happens, Virgin Active (the fitness clubs) all appear to have Sky and Not Cable, and they have SkyNews on a lot of the day (talk about a poke in the eye for VM customers).

End of the day, All virgin companies simply rent the name from Virgin.

If you want to (and you have the money) you could start your own companie, say if your a plumber, you could stat Virgin Plumbers rent the name, but you wouldnt have to advertise VM

Erm, there are Virgin Media shops (there is one in the Whitgift centre in Croydon for instance). I have no idea if these are run by the same people who run Virgin Megastores (I suspect not), but they do exist, and they are seperate from the Virgin Megastores.

Didnt relize that, assumed the OP ment megastores when he said "Are the Virgin Media Shops (The big ones were they sell Mobile Phones/CDs/videos/dvds/computer games/book ect) part of the same group as VM?" which sounds like megastores to me.

Re: Virgin Media Shops

1. Pay my bill, be it phone or tv or internet. Because we want people to pay by DD, save £5!

2. Open a Virgin Media package. You can.. Happily!

3. Talk to costumer services. Its retail, we have thousands of people to provide CS.

4. Broadband Help. Whats the point? You would need to be at home with your equipment to recieve support.

5. Report a fault. Faults need diagnostics, as above you need to be at home for that to take place

6. Add your own to the list...................... Test the products, gaming etc

Re: Virgin Media Shops

Do they really need to be spending more money opening stand alone shops? Why not just develop the Virgin Mobile sections in the Megastores?

Depends what they consider more valuable. The presence of a shop in the high street, or a concession in another store.

A shop can have a massive positive impact on a brand's image. Much more so than a concession within another store.

Also, the Virgin Megastores have an image that attracts kids and teenagers. Older people may want Cable/Mobile/Phone/Broadband, but may be put off going in a place with loud music, and a lot of kids.
