This Site Owned by NTL?

i joined this site today to get info about problems with my internet, however when i searched on the net i got something else about the story of how it started, im not sure if im allowed to post links to it?

It says it was started by an unhappy customer who was later employed by NTL when they bought the website of them?

So is this site still owned by NTL/Virgin Media? And used for customer relations?

Irate NTL customers have threatened to abandon NThellWorld, the customer complaints website that was unexpectedly bought by NTL.


The cable company disclosed this week that it had bought the popular NThellWorld site and the services of its editor, Frank Whitestone.


NTL said it planned to rename the site, which was an outlet for leaked company information and customer rants, NThelpWorld.


Now, NTL customer Bryan Stevens has threatened to launch a rival site, called NTLhell.co.uk, if the NThellWorld forum is in any way gagged by NTL.


"Customers being abused by NTL used to have somewhere to rant and rave and send their complaints but now they don't, thanks to... NTL," he says in a posting on the new NTLhell.co.uk site.


"This site ... is waiting in the wings as it were. If there are any adverse changes to nthellworld.com, ie corporate sanitation, then we'll take over where Frank Whitestone left off!" he said.


There's only one page to the site so far, but Bryan has already received offers to help build it.

I added the report to the above post, its the same guy isn't it. It that why it was changed to cable forum from ntlhell because ntl purchased it? Did they sell it before virgin took over?

Im just curious to how impartial people are on the postings?

They bought a site called nthellworld.com, which they ran for just over 18 months and then closed down.

Meanwhile some folks registered the domain name nthellworld.co.uk and set up a rival, independent forum. That forum later changed its name to Cable Forum, and is the same forum you're now posting on.

As it says in the Wikipedia article I just linked for you.

Nthellworld.com was bought by NTL off Frank (who is also one of the owners of this site). When they decided to re-organise and close nthellworld.com, then then Admin team of that site (Frank, Neil & Mick), and one ex-mod (Russ) set up nthellworld.co.uk.

The focus of the site also changed, from a rant site to a site that aims to help. As such, after a while, we changed the name of the site to cableforum.co.uk.

Lol, that sound well dodgy, the guy who sold the site and went to NTL later leaves and starts up this site? lol, i wonder if he still has any connection with NTL.

I can't see what purpose this thread is serving now, the question has been asked and comprehensively answered (and not for the first time).
