I may go travelling

Guys, as you will see from the message contents I am not ever so clued up about mail etc

I have been a happy NTL/VM customer for several years and I currently pay £25 per month.
I do not fancy staying in the UK for the winter, is there something I can do where I can suspend my broadband and save say 6x£25 but where I can continue to use my ntlworld e-mail address to receive mail in far distant places.
I would then start up my VM/broadband at home again next spring.
TIA

I don't know what general policy is but I have done similar albeit 5 years ago or so, phone up and ask, if they agree just ask for it in writing to cover yourself

Can't you "downgrade" to a dial-up account and keep your email address?

Oh, and welcome to the Forum!

Re: I may go travelling

Thanks for the welcome Norm.
I believe that I was a member of the forum years ago when I first joined NTL broadband from btopenworld.
I have to say that I am a silver surfer, self trained and some things I am out of the loop on.
I know that it would be in my best interests to put all of my eggs into one basket (TV Internet, phone mobile etc)but I do not want to be tied to a 12month contract.
Would I be able to have a free dial up account with Virgin Media and keep my e-mail address?
TIA
