Telewest was ok, it's the NTL side of the two that is bringing it down.

Re: She tells it like it is.

Interesting article. The business world is strange though isnt it,with all the bad press VM is getting and attidues towards the company quite bad in certain areas of real life as well as here you would almost think they are doomed to fail. Think maybe things will get better if not someone will take over and do something so in the end it wont make a huge amount of difference to me so ill let those involved worry about it

Pffffft!

Excuse me, but that is the most biased piece of crap reporting I've ever seen.

Taking the mick out of the "bullying", small "mini" dishes that Hyacinth Bucket couldn't turn down??

Tosh. It's still a dish. You still can't have it on listed buildings, you still get a rubbish service, and you still have cables stapled from the top to the bottom of your house.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with this post - I don't see how this can be classed as reporting.

Short sighted muppets, they will still be playing catchup in 5 years time. But it was the cheap option!
Aha, an insider..exactly whose management took over what bits when it all merged? As a VM customer I'd just like to know!

Re: She tells it like it is.

I think it is a poor/sloppy article because she talks about the "...merging Virgin with NTL..." which isn't the case. NTL (after merging with Telewest) bought the Virgin brand and merged/bought the mobile phone business.

Anyone reading that article who is unfamiliar with the history of the merger etc would read into it that Branson has put his empire at risk by merging Virgin with a struggling cable company.

The word should be rebrand. but I do think that he has put his empire at risk by all the bad publicity surrounding the rebrand.

It is a smaller dish. before some people would stay with Virgin as having a great big dish on their property put them off from switching to Sky. having the choice of a smaller discreet dish would make them think that switching to Sky is now a viable option.

It may be a smaller dish, but smaller dish = reduced signal levels. How big is the new Sky dish? Still 35/40cm. Still too big and black in my opinion!

From my perspective Telewest took over NTL!! I've been to 2 work stream meetings and I was the only ex-ntl bod there!!
But, NTL's Customer Service may have been crap, but Telewest's were not that great either. As for systems, we seem to have gone over to the "telewest" way, which IMO are pants and don't work.. but hey ho

"The Lunatics have taken over the asylum" springs to mind
