Ex Ntl/telewest Techs

I've just received my new rotas.... NOT HAPPY

I have spoken to a few of our techs in the ex ntl and i cant find anyone who is happy with the rota.

Are there any ex telewest techs who like it????

How many techs like the new rota .In the letter which union did they speak to ? So nothing has changed in the way the new company does things A lot of tehs are joing the CWU union lets hope more techs join so they have better reconision in this company

hi everybody

i dont see how anybody can be happy 3 out of 4 saturdays 18-19 jobs on a monday and they would have you believe you get more time at home!!! also losing the shift enhancement means everybody is 3hrs pay down a month before we even start.....nice one virginmedia

Mr Bransons ethics i believe are.... a happy work force, leaves a happy customer which leaves happy share holders...

I thought this was a new company but its still the old way of doing things .As for the voice reps we just see them as the whipping boys .They go to these meetings but the company has already made there mind up and get these voice reps to pass the info on .Just waint to se what they try and pass for a pay rise .I thought the new way was keep the staff happy they will keep the customers happy got that wrong .

were any techs consulted on this issue? my letter states that we were but i must of been away that day!!....... can any service tech on this forum state any good/positive points since we changed to virgin

We got new uniform thats all i can think of .Surely there must be more techs on this site please comment

If anything its got worse since Vm took over.

3 out of 4 sats, 8am till 7pm mondays (thats your social life gone)
if you want to book a Saturday off youve got no chance unless its part of a 5 day block. and service tech are the only dept in vm who cannot buy extra leave.

you can buy extra leave you have until the 15th to change your options on health care and holidays ive checked with HR and you can buy leave 5 extra!!

We had a briefing last week and in our new Terms & Conditions it states that service tech are not allowed to buy leave as per Steve Kirk.

I checked with my manager and i checked with hr and ive also booked the days on next years options i dont want a slanging match with anyone, you may have been TOLD by your manager like i was But.....
i asked to see it in writing nothing was forthcoming so i contacted hr and it is a company wide benefit not job specific

Take a look at your annual holiday entitlement and if you joined Virgin Media on or before 31st March 2007, and would like to take up this Choices option, you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days holiday per year, as long your leave doesn't go above a maximum of 33 days leave or fall below a minimum of 20 days. This includes up to 5 days holiday, you may have carried forward.

If you joined Virgin Media on or after 1st April 2007, you are not able to buy and sell holiday this year but we will make this option available to you from 1st January 2008.

• All colleagues will have an option to buy or sell up to 5 days with the cost of buying or selling spread over the year. Your request would not be subject to approval by your line manager and will be part of the benefit choices programme which is due to be launched early next year to go live from 1st April 2007.

This is off the hr page but going forward maybe the new contracts will be different.
