ntlhome Internet - Systems maintenance 14/09/03
8 September 2003 19:03
As part of our commitment to provide you with an excellent standard of service, on Sunday 14th September we’re making some improvements to our systems.
During this time you will be unable to make changes to your Internet service, however you will still be able to send and receive emails, surf the web and upload to your webspace.
New customers will also be unable to register an internet account at this time
Our Internet support centres will have no access to their systems during this period; normal service will be restored on the morning of 15th September.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

This was taken from the status page.
So no technical support on sunday people, hold on to your hats :p

So - an EXCELLENT standard of service involves withdrawing that service for a day??
Will have to try that one in work one day - and collect my cards on the way out the door!!!!

Sorry to be a pain in the backside, but
When your car goes into the garage to be serviced, or upgraded/improved, are you not without it for that process???
If your computer is taken into a shop to be upgraded, are you not without it for that period?
Alot of upgrades require you to be without something for a short period, but you dont mention these?????
I agree..... they could at least do the upgrade overnight, or in stages to cause less disruption to the already poor service, but..........................

Now thats just rediculous.......... the upgrade process should of been chopped up into manageable modules.... so to cause as little disruptions as possible.....

If you knew what the upgrade was and the amount of work involved, then you might not think it so rediculous.

Don't mean to be picky, but I would only take my car to somewhere that was willing to provide me with a courtesy car for the period it was in the garage....
...but I take your point - losing the TS for a day won't hurt too much - as long as nothing goes wrong that day.

What does any of this have to do with the TS call centre being shut?
