Virgin Media goes in search of indie cool

# 16 September 2013, 10:38 by Chris T

Virgin Media is looking to forge ties with independent-minded gamers and games publishers as a way of promoting its broadband services.

It has teamed up with influential gamer and Youtube video blogger “Ali A” to produce a series covering the latest news from the indie gaming scene. The programmes will be shown on Ali A’s Youtube channel and also via Ginx TV, a channel available exclusively via Virgin Media cable in the UK.

VM is also operating “Game Space”, a drop-in centre in Shoreditch, London, where gamers can try out the latest indie titles free of charge. The centre also offers chances to try out the latest interactive technology and runs workshops led by video game professionals.

Virgin Media is sponsoring Eurogamer Expo, which takes place at London’s Earls Court on 26-29 September.
