Virgin Media is expanding its network in Northern Ireland to enable it to serve an additional 30,000 homes.
The new cable, to be laid in Derry, will enable the company to market its full range of services including 100Mb broadband and TiVo-powered digital TV service.
The company has about 4.8 million customers. It has added 16,000 in Northern Ireland so far this year.
Virgin has also announced plans to extend the reach of some of its existing English networks in Ashford, Staines and Southampton.
