From the announcment: To launch the service and to ensure customers are able to get higher speeds, both new and existing customers will be able to try the broadband boost for up to three months at no extra cost. Following the initial three month trial, the service will cost just £5 a month on top of their normal package should they want to keep the ‘up to 16Mb’ service. In addition, it can be added or removed at any time without the need for a contract.

Virgin Media National is available across the UK, including areas which are unable to receive Virgin Media’s fibre optic broadband. Customers taking Virgin Media National broadband also get a free wireless router and PC Guard with anti-virus protection.
