# 20 October 2006, 10:51 by Cable Forum

ntl Telewest have announced today that they have made a significant 3 year agreement with Channel 4, for their popular programmes to appear on the On Demand platform. ntl Telewest digital TV customers will be able to catch up with popular TV shows such as, Deal or No Deal, Hollyoaks, Shameless, Queer As Folk, Drop The Dead Donkey and Jamie’s School Dinners.

The Channel 4 content will be refreshed on a regular basis. However, it has been noted that some of the content isn’t free with some programmes costing 49p to watch.

Rod Henwood, new business director, at Channel 4 said:

“Channel 4 is the most innovative and distinctive brand in UK television – and we want to extend this reputation by taking a pioneering role in VOD. This agreement with ntl Telewest underlines our ambitions. It is a major step towards making Channel 4 content available on demand across multiple platforms and lays the foundation for the launch of our bespoke on demand service later this year.”

Ernie Cormier, chief commercial officer, ntl Telewest added:

“Cable is delivering the best digital TV experience available in the UK. With our on demand service customers can watch over 500 movies, thousands of music videos, hundreds of classic series as well as catching up on popular TV shows they have missed. Today’s announcement is a mega deal for our customers who now have access to even more great content from Channel 4.”
