ntl Telewest Quadplay gets an official launch

# 27 September 2006, 10:15 by Chris T

ntl:Telewest claims households could save £400 a year by signing up for a new package launched today, that will put internet, TV, home and mobile phones on the same bill for the first time in the UK. Dubbed ‘Quadplay’, the new package adds Virgin Mobile services to the options the UK’s main cable company already provides.

ntl:Telewest says its existing ‘Three for £30’ customers will be able to bolt-on the mobile package to their existing deal, turning it into ‘Four for £40’. Customers on any of ntl:Telewest’s other packages can add Virgin Mobile for £10 a month.

Neil Berkett, chief operating officer of ntl Telewest, said: “Quadplay demonstrates the unique power of the cable-Virgin Mobile union and this is just the beginning. Our new package represents unbeatable value while meeting a wide range of consumers’ entertainment and communication needs.

“It’s more than just another cut-price offer, because it also equips customers for the infinite possibilities presented as these different technologies increasingly interact.”

The Four for £40 deal includes uncapped, 2Mb broadband internet; more than 30 channels of digital TV plus access to on-demand services; a home phone line with unlimited weekend landline calls and a Virgin Mobile SIM card with 300 texts and 300 any network – anytime minutes, per month. However, mobile users need to supply their own handset.
