ntl price changes coming June 2006

# 5 April 2006, 13:47 by Frank

We have received word that ntl Telewest are going to be changing some residential pricing in the very near future. Analogue TV prices are on the rise, as ntl try to move people onto a Digital TV platform. Some DTV Value packs are also on the rise.

The price of an additional STB is rising from £7.00 to £7.50, with additional telephone lines rising from £7.50 to £11.00 each. It’s a good bet that it’s only a matter of time before ntl launches a VoIP service with telephone line prices rising so sharply.

In addition to the price changes, ntl are increasing the “administration charge” for non-Direct Debit accounts to £4 a month. This is in contrast to BT’s £1 fee. Historically, many customers have not signed up for Direct Debit due to the large number of billing problems. There are also reports of a £10 charge for lowering your package, although this has not been verified.

The full breakdown of prices can be seen below. Customers will be receiving bill inserts in their next bill detailing the price changes.
