Technology firm CRC Group has signed a £9million contract with cable company ntl to take over the management of ntl’s set-top
box screening and refurbishment centres from 5th January.
CRC, which is based in Oxfordshire, provides technology repair services to major manufacturers and brands in the communications and IT markets. The contract is for an indefinite period with an initial fixed term of 2 1/2 years with anticipated annual renewals.
According to one of Scotland’s leading newspapers, The Herald, this will also expand on ntl’s work testing and refurbishing set-top boxes at its Glenrothes facility in Scotland, boosting jobs in the area.
The deal will see up to 100 posts created at CRC’s Fife operation, taking employee numbers close to 450, as the company takes on screening and distribution activities previously undertaken by Ntl in Manchester and Huddersfield. The contract is for an initial period of two years with the potential for extension.
