Cable firm Telewest is trying to encourage dial-up hard fans to convert to their broadband platform. In a bid to encourage customers on to broadband, Telewest are from Monday 1st November, offering its 256K service for £14.99 for the first 12 months.
After this time, prices will revert back to £17.99 per month.
Telewest are keen to stress the point that there are no confusing bandwidth caps or restrictions. The service also comes with free installation and free use of a cable modem.
Eric Tveter, president and chief operating officer at Telewest Broadband, has said “It’s never been easier to switch to broadband – and now the price is right for hesitant dial-up users to test the broadband water.
“There are now no reasons not to take broadband – the price is the same as dial-up but there are none of the frustrations and the advantages are obvious – faster speeds, an always on connection and you can use the phone and the internet at the same time .”
